We’ve rolled out a series of powerful admin tools and upgrades that make it easier to capture data, showcase engagement, and protect the integrity of your activities. These updates give organizers more control and insights while keeping the in-app player experience smooth and consistent.
Our apps have long featured Instagram-style photo galleries—a favorite for presenting event moments in a familiar, modern format. Now you can go a step further by pulling user-submitted images from scavenger hunt stops directly into those galleries.
Food festival: Participants snapping pictures at BBQ stands can have their images featured in your app’s gallery, giving everyone a taste of the action in real time.
Once a scavenger hunt is live, the admin setup is automatically locked to keep the experience consistent for everyone playing in the app. Admins can’t add new stops or change the order of stops after the hunt has started, which prevents behind-the-scenes tweaks that could cause issues or confusion. If a change is truly needed, admins can manually unlock the hunt.
Data capture just got smarter. With Registration Insights, you can easily view and export participant details collected before the hunt begins. Current registration fields include Name, Initials, Email, Phone Number, and Location—giving you meaningful data on who’s playing and where they’re coming from.
County fair: Quickly see how many participants are coming from neighboring towns and use that insight to guide future marketing campaigns.
For organizations that want deeper data capture, scavenger hunts can tie into your app’s General Onboarding. This login happens once per user and connects participation to a unique profile, depending on your package level.
Tourism passport: A tourism group sells access in person and provides unique codes. Attendees use those codes to log in once during onboarding, unlocking exclusive scavenger hunts and passport rewards available only to paid participants.
Managing multiple hunts just got easier with new Archiving and Copying tools:
Holiday lights tour: Copy last year’s hunt settings—such as scoring and registration rules—while updating this year’s stops, saving hours of setup time and keeping prior results archived for comparison.
To make setup easier than ever, we’ve introduced quick-start presets. Each option comes with built-in defaults tailored to your goals, whether you’re running a competitive game, a community passport, an educational tour, or a promotional trail. Here’s how they compare at a glance:
Type | Best For | Validation | Map | Scoring/Leaderboard | Rewards |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Game | Trivia, clue-based hunts, timed challenges, check-in races | Code, QR, Geo, Photo | Off by default | Points + leaderboard on | Tiered or complete-all supported |
Passport | Vendor/sponsor trails, food or beverage crawls, community passports | Code, QR, Geo, Photo | On by default | Leaderboard off | Threshold (e.g., any 6 of 10) |
Tour | Museums, galleries, campus tours, parks, historic walks | None (auto-complete on view) | On by default | None (analytics only) | Not typical |
Promotion | Sponsor activations, photo/selfie trails, coupons | Code, QR, Geo, Photo | Off by default (enable if needed) | None | Optional offers/coupons |
With these upgrades, Scavenger Hunts, Passports, and Tours aren’t just engaging—they’re also a powerful way to collect participant insights, safeguard game integrity, and showcase real-time event engagement in your app.
