Step-by-Step Scavenger Hunt Setup

Whether you're building a scavenger hunt, tour, or reward-based experience in your Grandstand app, we've outlined the key decision points in two handy flowcharts. This guide walks you through the logic behind setting up your experience and the specific setup required for each stop.

Decisions for Each Stop

Once you've outlined the overall experience, you'll set up each stop with the following fields:

Information to Collect:

  • Stop Name
  • Text for Stop (e.g. clue or description)
  • Validation Format (Code, QR, Location Check-in, or Photo)

If using Question/Answer validation:

  • Question for participant (this prompts the user)
  • Validation Code/Answer that the system checks against

If using Location Check-In:

  • Map Location for the stop (coordinates or pin)

  • Optional: Upload a photo for the stop (named the same as the stop)
  • Completion Message (e.g. “You completed this stop! Move on to the next one.”)

Final Tips

  • Use short, action-oriented language for clues and completion messages.
  • Test each validation method during setup to ensure it behaves as expected.
  • Label files clearly when uploading multiple stop photos.
