New and Improved Sharing Features

Grandstand understands that sharing is one of the most crucial elements of any app. It's how users spread the word about events, vendors, and experiences to their friends, family, and colleagues. That's why we’re excited to introduce several new features that give you even more control over what gets shared and how it’s shared from both the app and the admin side.

These enhancements empower you to customize and fine-tune the sharing experience, ensuring that your users share the right message at the right time. Let’s dive into the new and existing options available in the three primary areas where sharing takes place: Schedules, Maps, and Lists.

1. Lists

One of the most dynamic features in your app is the List functionality, which covers everything from food vendors to performers, FAQs, and more. With our latest update, we’ve added flexibility to let you decide exactly what gets shared and how it’s presented.

Key Features:

- Default Content Control: As of August 5, 2024, all apps now allow you to set the default shareable content for lists. You can select combinations of the Title, URLs, descriptions, and subheaders to be shared. The best part? It’s adjustable for each list. For example, you may want to make the menu for a food vendor shareable but only the URL link for a performer’s band page.

- Starter Message Customization: Since the end of July 2024, you’ve had the ability to edit the initial message that accompanies shared content. This means you can add promotional hooks like “New Food for 2024 – ” or “Don’t miss the amazing performances of …” right from the admin panel.

- Ending Message Customization: A soon-to-be-released feature will allow you to edit the message that appears at the end of shared content, such as “Download the Official app on iOS and Google Play!”

2. Maps

Navigating your event just got easier with improved Map sharing features. Whether users are dropping pins or sharing key locations, Grandstand automatically adds a Google Maps link for smooth navigation.

Key Features:

- Google Maps Integration: Since early August 2024, all shared map locations include a Google Maps link with latitude and longitude. This feature ensures that users can easily find any location, whether it’s a vendor booth or a performance stage.

- Message Customization: You can edit both the beginning and ending messages of shared map locations directly in the admin. Want to add a welcome note or a download prompt? No problem!

- Share Toggle: Not all apps want to make their locations shareable. Starting in August 2024 admins now have the option to turn off sharing for specific map points, giving you complete control over what gets distributed.

3. Schedules

Event schedules are one of the most frequently shared aspects of any app. Grandstand makes it simple for users to share the details of events, performances, and activities with their social networks.

Key Features:

- Automatic Event Information: Every event shared from the schedule will automatically include the title of the event, the date, and the time. This ensures that users have all the key information they need at a glance.

- Hide Share Button: For events that are more private or require limited publicity, admins can hide the share button altogether. This feature has been available in all apps since mid 2023.

With these enhancements, Grandstand is providing you with the tools to craft a seamless and tailored sharing experience for your users. Whether it's promoting vendors, guiding attendees to key locations, or broadcasting event schedules, you now have more power to ensure that every share carries the right message.
