The Grandstand Admin just rolled out a major set of improvements to make app building and content management easier than ever. With smarter automation, better visuals, and new customization options across Maps, Lists, Events, and more—these tools are designed to save time while giving your app a professional edge. Here's a rundown of the latest features and how you can use them.
Easily generate custom icons using AI directly in the Icon Setup section. Need a quick visual for a dunk tank, shuttle stop, or ice cream vendor? Just describe it and let the tool do the rest—no design software needed. Perfect for speeding up setup when a new section is added late in the game.
A new tool automatically removes the background from the main logo uploaded to your app’s homepage. This is especially useful for seasonal updates when a new logo might have a white box or color that clashes with the background. It cleans things up with zero effort—and only applies to logos uploaded within the last two weeks.
There’s now a new tab in Map Setup to fine-tune the map’s description carousel: control where it starts, how tall it appears, or whether to use it at all. This is great for setting up a featured tour—like a historical path through exhibits or a highlight reel of food vendors—where users can swipe and get info while the map auto-focuses on each point.
You can now upload and delete a visual map key. Want to show that green pins are restrooms and red stars are first aid tents? This is the best way to explain a complex map with custom iconography and no room for confusion.
Add a lot of pins to your map and want a text version without retyping? Now you can auto-generate a synced list from your map. This works great for vendor directories, booth lists, or park features that already exist as map pins.
Add the ability to filter your list by location—ideal for large venues split across buildings, zones, or areas. For example, visitors can narrow down to just “South Food Court” or “Kids Zone” activities.
Let your tags pop with color—automatically! Perfect for flagging “Free,” “VIP,” “21+,” or other key info that users can scan visually in a list view.
From a list item (like a performer or vendor), you can now link directly to a custom content page. Useful for expanding beyond the basics—link out to a bio, gallery, sponsor info, or menu PDF.
When uploading large lists, you can now include override values for location name and address—making it easier to set up entries that might need different public-facing names or non-standard map coordinates.
You’ll now be able to tell if an event or event category is using a default placeholder image. That means no more hunting down why something looks generic—you’ll be prompted to upload a better image instead.
See all uploaded ad graphics—including AI-generated ones—in one view. Makes it much easier to rotate, review, or assign sponsor content without digging through folders or remembering filenames.
Thumbnails now appear in the Photo Filter tool, helping you visually manage your uploads at a glance. Especially useful for photo-heavy apps where you need to scan through 20+ images quickly.
Apps with strong branding or themes can now upload their own “Back” button icons. Think: a cowboy hat for rodeos, a magnifying glass for museum trails, or a film reel for movie festivals. A tiny but on-theme customization.
If you’re running a rewards program with a big catalog—like scavenger hunt prizes or merchant discounts—you can now toggle a search bar on or off to keep things organized.
In Photo Booth, you can now require users to be within a certain location before submitting forms or photos. This is great for collecting contest entries from people on-site only—like at a gate, booth, or specific attraction.
You can now display an image in a Custom Page by simply providing an image URL—perfect for embedding sponsor logos, Instagram-ready headers, or last-minute signage graphics without reuploading through the admin. This allows faster updates, especially when the asset is hosted elsewhere or updated frequently (like a weather radar or event poster).
