Our Story

Grandstand started in 2017 with a simple idea. Event teams should not need a big tech department to create a modern app. Whether you run a fair, festival, conference, or tour, your tools should feel friendly, flexible, and stress free.

From our home base in Lincoln, Nebraska, we built Grandstand into a platform now used by hundreds of organizations across the US and around the world. What began as a small project has become a trusted partner for events of every size.

We still keep things personal. When you work with Grandstand, you hear directly from the people who design, build, improve, and support the platform every day. At the same time, our tools, partners, and infrastructure scale confidently to support tens of thousands of users during busy event weekends.

Part-Time Content Specialist

Remote | Contract | 10–20 hours per week

About Grandstand

Grandstand builds mobile apps for festivals, events, fairs, tourism organizations, and communities across the US and Canada. Our platform powers schedules, maps, vendors, alerts, scavenger hunts, rewards, and more. We work with hundreds of partners each year, many of whom operate on tight timelines leading up to live events.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Content Specialist to help build, organize, and quality-check content inside our apps.

Role Overview

The Part-Time Content Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining in-app content using the Grandstand admin platform. This role is execution-focused and ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working through structured tasks while managing multiple apps at once.

This is a remote, flexible role with heavier workloads during peak event season.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and manage in-app content including pages, schedules, vendors, maps, and alerts
  • Format, clean, and organize client-submitted content
  • Upload images and perform basic image cropping or resizing
  • QA and proofread app content before launches or updates
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness across all app sections

Occasional Responsibilities

  • Write short descriptions or light marketing copy when needed
  • Assist with internal handoffs or limited electronic communication with clients
  • Use AI tools to support content setup and efficiency

Tools You Will Use

  • Grandstand admin platform
  • Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive
  • Built-in client support and ticketing system

Schedule and Time Commitment

  • 10 to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule with some deadline-driven work
  • Heavier workload from May through September
  • Occasional time-sensitive tasks tied to app launches or live events

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks and structured content work
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Willing to ask clarifying questions and flag potential issues
  • Reliable, responsive, and self-directed in a remote environment

Writing and Design Expectations

  • Role is primarily data entry, formatting, and execution
  • Writing quality matters, but accuracy and consistency are the top priority
  • Basic image handling only, no design work required
  • An eye for consistency is more important than creative design skills

Success in the First 30–60 Days

  • Independently set up full app sections with minimal oversight
  • Manage content for multiple apps simultaneously
  • Reduce internal review cycles through accuracy and consistency
  • Proactively identify issues or gaps in content

Location and Eligibility

  • Fully remote
  • Must be based in the United States or Canada

Compensation and Growth

  • $18 to $22 per hour
  • Contract position
  • Opportunity to take on more responsibility over time
  • Potential path toward expanded hours, project leadership, or a full-time role
