Social & News Setup

Grandstand is focused on making it easy for our partners to keep their apps updated with news feeds. With the Social & News tools available in the Admin this is now easier than ever. Social & News gives you the power to stylize Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter Feeds in your app. With Grandstand you have the ability to display your content posted to these platforms in your own branding and style.

Setup for each of these pages couldn't be easier.

1. Go to Social & Feeds
2. In the Upper Right Corner click Add Social or Feed
3. On the popup, enter the info asked for:
   • Title. The title is used as an internal reference name but is also used on the tab if you are using News/Social Collections
   • Type of Feed. You will choose the social or news source (Twitter, Facebook or YouTube. Instagram and 3rd Party RSS feeds are no longer available).
   • URL. Include the full URL of Facebook or YouTube. For Twitter you will just use a username or hashtag and not the full URL.
   • Layout Type. At this time only images to the left of the text is available. They will be shown as thumbnails in the feed.
4. Click Save.
5. Once you have entered all of the feeds you would like to include, you can click "Update Sodial & Feeds in App" to make it live in the app. Make sure you include a link to the social feeds on the main menu!

COLLECTIONS

Collections provide a way to show lots of different feeds on a single tabbed page. Available in App Package 3 and above, collections are easy to setup from your list of available feeds.

To setup a collection:

1. Select Add Social & Feeds Collection
2. Add a title for the tabbed page (typically Social Media is a good title)
3. Under each of the Tab 1, Tab 2, Tab 3, Tab 4, select the feed to show under that tab. You are limited to 4 tabs but must use at least 2. The tabs must be set up under Social & Feeds first to be able to be selected.
4. Save.
5. When you are ready to push the changes to the app, click the "Update Social & Feeds in App" button in upper right corner.
6. Don't forget to include a link in the main menu to the tabbed collection so the app users can access it.

Social & News Collections are a powerful new way to showcase your content to your app users, without having to manually update it yourself.
