September 2019 Preview

Fall Festival season has picked up and Grandstand is being used to enhance the attendee experience of many of these great festivals. In addition, fun international events, such as the Hīkoia Te Kōrero event in New Zealand show how Grandstand is used around the world. Here are a few highlights from September:

  • Hīkoia Te Kōrero: New Zealand’s Maori-Language Festival is using Grandstand for a second-straight year, launching an app inside Grandstand - Events & Guides.
  • Unlabeled Oktoberfest: The second-major Unlabeled event put on by Minneapolis-based Growler that gives beer aficionados the opportunity to participate in a unique blind taste-test with live voting within the app. The last event featured more than 20,000 ratings over the course of the two-hour event.
  • Dixie Classic (North Carolina): Winston-Salem, North Carolina is home to this large area fair utilizing Grandstand’s newest Geo-Fencing features to deliver timely push notification alerts to audiences at the fair.
  • Carrboro Music Festival (North Carolina): Originally started as an app in a container, Carrboro is launching its first stand-alone app this year to enhance this city-wide music festival.
  • AppleJack Festival (Nebraska): The first year app for this festival named one of the nation’s best, featuring live views of shuttle busses and more.
  • Sandwich Fair (Illinois): This unique fair located just outside of Chicago is using Grandstand for the third-straight year. The app takes advantage of Grandstand’s advertising tools giving fair sponsors millions of additional ad impressions and clicks.
  • Texas Cotton Association - Marketing Meetings: The year-round Texas Cotton apps shifts over to lend support to its annual FLOW marketing meetings. The rest of the year it serves as a valuable member tool with detailed calendars, legislative agendas, and a valuable messaging tool using push notifications.
  • Hebron Harvest Fair (Connecticut): This popular four-day fair showcases hundreds of food and commercial vendors providing a way for fair attendees to connect before, during, and after with vendors. Unique to this app is custom integration that automates vendor and food listings from a third-party software used to manage the fair.
  • Wayne County Fair (Ohio): The year-round Wayne County 4-H app morphs into the Wayne County Fair app during this weekend fair, including competitive results.
  • Horse Shows by Utah 4-H: Another year-round 4-H app that changes for each major event, this stand-alone app is currently setup to cater to multiple major horse competitions going on throughout the state.
  • Santa Cruz County Fair (California): The five-day fair features detailed calendars, maps, and food vendors in its first year. Launched inside Grandstand - Events & Guides this year.
  • Brown County Fair (Ohio): For the second-straight year the Brown County 4-H app will change into support of the annual County Fair, including competitive results, schedules and more.
