To showcase Juneteenth events, we released two apps recently: Burlington Juneteenth and Lowcountry Juneteenth.
Juneteenth celebrates the commemoration of the ending of slavery, and the city of Burlington hosted an event for the second year and wanted to gather everyone in one place to celebrate. This gathering was filled with music, food, and events for all, and Grandstand was proud to play a part in honoring Juneteenth. The theme for this year's festival was “A Love Story”.
A week full of events celebrating Juneteenth took place in North, Charleston, South Carolina for the second consecutive year. This week of Juneteenth featured black-owned businesses with organized events throughout the day celebrating and honoring all that African Americans have been through and educating all about their culture through the variety of celebrations. A large festival honoring Juneteenth was held at the end of the week.
Both of these Grandstand apps provided easy access to artists, food vendors, schedules, and more. A special feature on both these apps was a historical quiz to test people’s knowledge of Juneteenth and to educate ones who may not have much knowledge on this topic. Once again, Grandstand could not have been happier to be a part of honoring Juneteenth.
